    sea view
    outdoor footbath
    long walk

The room featured stunning sea views that added a unique charm to the stay. Relaxing in the footbath outside was a pleasant and refreshing experience.

Getting to the hotel took longer than expected with heavy luggage, as it was about a 20-minute walk from the ferry terminal. The futon mattresses on the floor were quite thin, which took some adjusting to for comfort. Breakfast included a pre-prepared Japanese meal that might not appeal to all tastes, lacking any Western options.

    sea view
    footbath garden
    traditional tatami
    limited dining options

Our family had a memorable stay in a quadruple room with a stunning sea view that included a cozy traditional tatami area. My kids loved the relaxing footbath in the garden, and being able to bring our dog along was a real plus for us!

My kids wished for more dining options for picky eaters.

    remarkable staff

    Recommend it for couples

Our stay was memorable , from the moment we walked in. They had comfy Yukatas ready for us, which added to the whole experience. The staff were remarkable , going the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of.

It wasn’t cheap , but still acceptable.

    hospitable staff
    varied breakfast
    challenging access
    limited dining options
    dietary restrictions

The staff demonstrated genuine hospitality, with kind assistance throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed the expertly prepared Japanese breakfast, which varied each day and included a vegetarian option upon request. However, getting to the hotel from the ferry terminal was challenging with heavy luggage due to rough walkways. The lack of diverse dining options, considering dietary restrictions, also posed a challenge in satisfying everyone's preferences.

Staying at Kikunoya was a fantastic experience! The dinner and breakfast were exceptional, with traditional Japanese flavors that really gave us a taste of the local culture. The yukatas provided by the hotel added a special touch to our stay, making it memorable. We also enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful footbath garden.

    The room was quite small.

the room could use some modern updates (especially the decor). the onsen setup was nice with male and female areas, and our pick of yukatas was fun. the foot bath was a delightful treat after long walks around the island.

    friendly staff
    limited breakfast options

The room with a sea view was stunning and just a short drive to Daisho-in and the trailhead. The free shuttle service was super convenient. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, especially the kaiseki dinner. Staff were friendly and made our stay enjoyable.

However, I felt the breakfast selection could be limited for those who aren't fans of traditional Japanese cuisine.
